Wynn Las Vegas Casino - 2021 All You Need to Know BEFORE ...

God bless the Wynn Hotel and Casino buffet!

I hadn’t been to a buffet since my Celiac diagnosis until I visited the Wynn In Vegas. I told the hostess about my dietary restrictions and she had a chef give me a tour of the buffet. He let me know what was safe, what had been prepared near gluten, what items I could have made gluten-free and what items the chefs needed to change their knives or tongs before serving them to me. The food was delicious, I felt 100% safe, and I didn’t get glutened!

MGM Resorts - is now a good time to buy a resort?

![Image](https://vhinny-public-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/img/400354cc-bb9c-43bc-a17e-0a48bbe9aecd)
MGM Resorts is a holding company operating through its subsidiaries which own and run integrated casinos, hotels, and entertainment resorts across the United States and in Macau.

Revenue Streams

MGM drives its revenue in the following 3 segments:
More than 50% of domestic revenue is driven by non-gaming operations. The revenue model differs greatly between the Las Vegas and Regional Operations. In Las Vegas, non-casino revenue leads casino revenue 3:1 while in regional segment this relationship is the opposite. In China, both segments are about the same.

Finaniclas

MGM has kept consistent revenue at ~$10B over the past decade. While the operating cash flow has shown consistent growth, the company was losing money between 2012 and 2015. While the company runs with a manageable Debt to Equity (D/E) ratio of 1.67, the interest rates consume the entire 10% of the company's revenue - a costly expenditure that shows itself big at a time like now - COVID. This year, the business is generating 30% of what it did in the past on average.
While the company pays a considerable 3% dividend, the management shows great inconsistency in its share repurchasing plan, moving up and down from year to year with an overall uptrend.
Please review these consolidated financials for additional information.

Pricing

This portfolio tracks MGM's performance in the past year alongside its major public competitors. Evidently, MGM's stock price has rebounded since the COVID to its earlier levels, despite financial downturn and significant upcoming annual losses.
The company trades at 57% its tangible assets, the best ratio among its competitors. Its current PE is 7.78 against its last year's earnings - the all time low of the past decade. However, given the unreliable nature of MGM's income, this metric is less meaningful than its price to tangibles, which I consider to be attractive.
Putting it all together, the company is taking a 70% cut on its revenue this year with respective effects on its balance sheet, major throw back on the income and immediate financing arrangements while the stock is trading at the pre-COVID levels. The future is most certainly uncertain, which makes the pricing undeterminable.

Conclusion

MGM is one of the key players in the resort business with somewhat attractive financials and possibly fair pricing. However, nothing in particular stands out to me about this stock at present time. The uncertainty of the future and fully rebound stock price, one the other hand, make it a hard no for me.

Greater Boston Casino Closes Hotel in Response to New Covid-19 Restrictions

Encore Boston Harbor, Wynn Resorts’ $2.6 billion casino resort that opened doors in the summer of 2019 near Boston, has closed its hotel amid a new wave of immediate restrictions on non-essential businesses as Massachusetts fights to control an uptick in new Covid-19 cases our casino .
In a note emailed to employees on Monday, Encore President Brian Gullbrants said that the hotel would close with immediate effect and that the resort would operate with reduced hours as of Friday.
Under normal circumstances, Encore’s casino floor is open 24 hours a day. However, it will be welcoming patrons from 9 am to 9 pm on Saturday and Sunday and from noon to 9 pm Monday through Friday starting this coming Friday. Without an all-night gaming operation, Encore has decided to shut its hotel service through at least December 15.

Trip Next May

Hi guys!
I'm tentatively planning to come for my 21st birthday in late April-early May of next year for a long weekend (probably Thursday-Tuesday). I've been to Vegas before, but my friends/family have planned the trips, so this time, it's my turn. We'll likely be a group of 6-8 people, mixed company. We're all under 30 and I'm the youngest.
Does anyone know of any deals going on atm with hotels? Of course, I've heard of the "$20 trick" but as someone who's worked in the service industry, I feel uncomfortable putting others in that position. I don't have a solid budget yet. We're young, so obviously nothing too crazy. I saw that the Wynn has rooms starting at around $400 which is doable for me, but I'd love to know if there's better out there. I am a student if there's any possibility of student discounts (it's unlikely, but just throwing it out there).
I think some people in the group would like to gamble. I know that this is an oxymoron, but if anyone has a "favorite" casino, I'd love to know. I'm also not much of a clubber or drinker, honestly. We'll probably go to 1 dayclub and 1 nightclub during the trip for the hell of it, but I'm much more inclined to be trying the vast food options in town. Any recommendations for a group?
Of course, with COVID, I'm prepared for potential limitations on this trip. I'd appreciate people sharing their recent experiences and speculations on next year. Thanks, everyone!

Is there anybody out there who bought Las Vegas casinos and hotels at the bottom?

They literally tanked almost 90%, except maybe for WYNN and LVS which dropped 50%. I mean ERI is up fucking 372.39% in 2 months. This is like the crypto bubble lol. If anybody had the balls and brain to dump his money into casinos and hotels hats off to them, they're probably on a yacht, sniffing coke with 20 chicks right this second.
I mean fucking fuck. SHOP that "exploded" yielded you pitiful results compared to if you just bought ERI at the bottom. Wtf is this.
submitted by Pako888 to wallstreetbets [link] [comments]

Who's On Board the WYNN Train?

Current PPS $69. 52-week high: $152. With MLB/NBA scheduled to start in late July (we'll see if that continues a few weeks before depending on continued rise of C19 cases, etc), casino/hotels will see a bit of demand. If anything, at $69 PS, this is a bargain, especially if you're a LTI (as I am).
WYNN crashed hard last week at 22% -- I think it'll continue on a down trend, but again, I personally think it's a BUY now, especially at the discounted rate. I think it'll go lower after the market closes tomorrow. Perhaps get in at $65-66 and hold for a mid-term investment (MTI) for 2-8 years.
It's 52-week low is $43.
Feel free to share your thoughts/opinions.
Cheers.

Gov orders all Nevada nonessential biz to close tonight at midnight (Yes, that means ALL casinos)

https://www.fox5vegas.com/coronavirus/all-of-nevada-s-hotel-casinos-to-shut-down-pearticle_1762d600-67fc-11ea-8f29-9f3991ee8c8c.html
TLDR: Vegas is closed for 30 days starting Wed at noon. GTFO.
Wynn and MGM had said they were going to close before and the Cosmo announced yesterday but this is the big one. I am still trying to find out when exactly is "nonessential". But all the casinos and other large properties have to close. Not sure how they plan to do that. These hotels have a couple of hundred-thousand people in them at any time. Sorry folks, get out, good luck finding a flight? WTF?
Most casinos have stated that they will offer full pay and benefits for the full time of the shutdown. All schools are already closed so at least it solves that issue. All grocery stores and related establishments have been looted. Good luck finding ammo and you can't buy a gun new because they can't get through to the feds for the background check. Also, all exercise equipment is sold out. I have no idea, don't ask.
Yes, I'm a Vegas local and for full disclosure, I have Puts on CZR $4 for 4/3. Et tu, Brute? Oh hell yeah.
EDIT: The new logo sucks

DONALD TRUMP

Check out what I just listed on Mercari. Tap the link to sign up and get up to $30 off. https://merc.li/AfrxahXtb
ON TOP OF THE WORLD … IN A HOUSE OF CARDS
The tabloids tracked his every move. The business magazines predicted his demise. And the public couldn't get enough. But the only people privy to Donald Trump's real story were the members of his inner circle—men such as Jack O'Donnell, a top executive at Atlantic City's Trump Plaza Casino until April, 1990. For three years O'Donnell witnessed the goings-on in the House of Trump that the people only guessed at. Now he reveals what he saw.
Here's the inside story of Trump's legendary tirades, his convenient forgetfulness, and the infamous Donald Trump ego. O'Donnell tells how the Plaza staff catered to Trump's personal whims, and to those of his mistress—and how the man who built the largest gambling hall in the world knew little about running a casino.
From the hypocrisy, bad deals, and the monumental debt to the untold tales of Marla and Ivana, Trumped! rips the mask off the mighty Trump facade—revealing a man whose castle is about to collapse.
From Kirkus Reviews
An old saw about Hollywood has it that if you scrape away the phoney tinsel, you'll find the real tinsel underneath. On the evidence of the would-be hiss-and-tell expos‚ at hand, much the same could be said of Donald Trump, the casino real-estate operator who's now adrift in a sea of financial woes. By the author's evenhanded, knowledgable account, in fact, Trump is a decidedly dull boy whose life story could as easily have been subtitled ``The Banality of Narcissism.'' The son of a top gaming-industry executive, O'Donnell (now 36) grew up in the slot-machine business. A sometime prot‚g‚ of Steve Wynn, he signed on with The Donald's organization in 1987. As chief operating officer at Trump Plaza, O'Donnell was in almost daily contact with his boss. If familiarity did not breed contempt, it eventually led to distaste. Trump at work emerges here as a cocksure boor who pays precious little attention to detail and pins the blame for his own misjudgments on subordinates. While he seems surprisingly dumb when it comes to weighing a deal's downside risks against its potential rewards, he apparently suffers from near- terminal overconfidence. As O'Donnell makes clear, however, his empire was built on an abiding faith in rising property values, an assumption that came a cropper shortly after the Taj Mahal's botched opening. And Trump at play with his yacht, helicopter, and other trophies is an equally unappealing eminence. A lover of gossip, The Donald has a phobia about germs, which makes him reluctant to shake hands with high-rolling customers or mingle with the celebs he adores and caters to. Nor does the abstemious Trump have a talent for extramarital flings. A long-running, oddly joyous affair with Marla Maples cost him his marriage to Ivana--and a good deal more. At any rate, O'Donnel quit Trump cold about a year ago. Now employed at Merv Griffith's Resorts Casino Hotel, he's watched from afar as Trump's sagging fortunes have attested to the truth of Hardy's contention that character is fate. An insider's saavy appraisal of a lad who lierally grew too big for his britches; no real surprises or new dirt for attentive readers of tabloid and business news, but a slick piece of work that will almost surely attract attention. -- Copyright ©1991, Kirkus Associates, LP. Bets Against the Stock Market Rise to Highest Level in Years

From the front page of today's Wall Street Journal. It was interesting to see, given the sharp rise in the S&P over the past two weeks.

By Karen Langley
Short sellers have revived their wagers against the stock market in recent weeks, taking their most aggressive positions in years.
Bets against the SPDR S&P 500 Trust, the biggest exchange-traded fund tracking the broad index, rose to $68.1 billion last week, the highest level in data going back to January 2016, according to financial analytics company S3 Partners. That was up from $41.7 billion at the beginning of 2020 and $41.2 billion a year ago.
Short sellers borrow shares and sell them, hoping to repurchase them at lower prices and keep the difference as profit. Among the individual companies they have targeted in recent weeks are travel-related firms, including Carnival Corp., Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., Marriott International Inc. and Wynn Resorts Ltd.
Those bets come during a wild year for investors who are struggling to reconcile the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the population and economy. The S&P 500 suffered its fastest drop from a record to a bear market in history -- ultimately falling 34% between Feb. 19 and March 23. Its 28% rebound since then has also been brisk, leaving some investors anxious about the strength of the rally when so much remains unknown.
"We've really seen a significant bounceback in the last three weeks at levels that I think are too quick," said Jerry Braakman, chief investment officer at First American Trust. His firm recently bet against the Nasdaq-100, on the belief that technology stocks have fallen too little to reflect the probability of a recession. The index is up 1.1% in 2020.
"When we see a strong move in one direction, where we think the fundamentals and the news can turn ugly, especially during an earnings cycle, we think that's an opportunity where we could see a 5,10% selloff again," he said.
Investors are bracing for the possibility of more volatility this week, as earnings reports from companies including Coca-Cola Co., Netflix Inc. and Delta Air Lines Inc. give another glimpse at how the coronavirus is reshaping the landscape for U.S. business.
The outsize market swings of late require vigilance from investors who sell shares short because they can face losses when prices rise. Short sellers incurred total mark-to-market losses of $108.8 billion over three days in late March when the S&P 500 surged 18%, according to Ihor Dusaniwsky, head of predictive analytics at S3 Partners.
But with the potential for additional declines ahead, many investors have decided that the ability to hedge their portfolios -- or simply bet on a selloff -- is wise.
"Things will go back to normal eventually and these positions will decrease but not until we start seeing less volatility in the market," Mr. Dusaniwsky said of the rise in short positions against the SPDR S&P 500 Trust. "No one's going to give up their insurance until they see the chances of catastrophe are in the rearview mirror."
The portion of available shares sold short against the SPDR S&P 500 Trust has also risen, climbing to 27% in early April, the highest level since November 2016 and up from 14% at the beginning of 2020.
The increase in bets against the market coincides with a push in other countries to temporarily curb short selling. At times of heightened volatility, critics often argue that the practice exacerbates downward pressure on stock prices. But Jay Clayton, the chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, has argued short selling is needed to facilitate ordinary market trading.
To be sure, coronavirus has upended entire industries in recent weeks, leaving investors scrambling to reassess the growth prospects of companies from Marriott to Clorox Co. to Amazon.com Inc. to Carnival.
With the pandemic devastating global travel, hotel, casino and cruise stocks have been among the hardest hit -- and seen some of the biggest additions to the short positions against them.
Many hotels and casinos temporarily closed their doors when demand evaporated, furloughing employees and curbing spending plans, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has extended a no-sail order for cruises into July.
Short sellers have added a collective $797 million to their short positions against Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Marriott and Wynn over the past 30 days, according to data Friday from S3 Partners.
Alex Lee, a San Francisco resident who manages a family sandwich shop in Oakland, Calif., and his wife had previously dabbled in short selling but have recently devoted more attention there. They made bets against Marriott, along with other stocks.
"Because of Marriott's price at the time, it seemed like it had more room to fall and because of its heavy presence in Europe and the United States, we just thought that that company itself would be more vulnerable to falling more," he said.
Over two rounds of shorting Marriott stock in March and April, they made a profit of about $15,000, Mr. Lee said. Marriott recently said about 25% of its hotels are temporarily closed and North American occupancy levels are around 10%. Its shares are down 44% this year.
Among the stocks that saw big drops in short positioning in March were stodgy consumer-staples shares, which got a bounce as Americans stocked their pantries to wait out the pandemic at home.
"We had a lifetime of trading in the month of March," said Mitch Rubin, chief investment officer at RiverPark Funds. He said he had previously bet against shares of Kroger Co., Walmart Inc., Clorox and Campbell Soup Co. but covered those positions in late February and early March as it became clear those companies would perform well with consumers sheltering in place.
"Their business is healthier than it was before the crisis because the demand for their products has increased," he said. "The amount of times you clean high-touch surfaces with a chemical disinfectant is going to go up for some period of time, maybe for the rest of our lives."

Who’s shorting? What are you shorting?

Im shorting Hilton, Las Vegas Sands, Vail, VAC, Wynn and Shopify. Feel like Casinos and hotels haven’t fallen as much as they should seeing as the country is on lockdown with no for sure end date. The next two weeks seem like they will be peak negativity.
I usually don’t short but I turned so pessimistic since Trump shutdown Europe on the 11th that I figured to try to make some money on my negativity to make myself feel better. ha. Actually it’s been fun aside from Shopify which so far has burned me. Will probably keep them open another week or two depending. Please don’t comment on Fed printing money, we know.

[Trip Report - Macau] Poker Ain't Dead in Macau Yet

Just got back from Tksgiving vacay in Hong Kong / Macau and wanted to provide a trip report.
I ended up staying in the Macau for 6 days and played 3 10-hr sessions during my time there. As others have mentioned, the only two hotels that I found hosting poker were the Wynn Macau and Venetian. I played exclusively at the Wynn since it was right next to my hotel.
The lowest stakes at both casinos was 50/100 HKD ($8/$16 USD), and they regularly hosted 100/200 and 300/600 at the Wynn. I'm used to playing at $5/$10 back home, so I mostly played the 50/100 game (with a couple hours at 100/200). Because poker games are very limited in the city, the waitlist gets REALLY long so expect to have to show up early afternoon and come back in a few hours. I would put my name down around 2PM on weekdays and there would already be 25-30 names on the list. The Wynn lets you put your phone down and they'll text you and give you 10 minutes to lock your seat (so I just got some work done at a cafe in the casino while waiting). The Venetian, unfortunately, doesn't text players so you have to wait in person.
I would describe the games as extremely soft compared to the US. The average table composition consisted of 3 tight passive regulars (very predictable and exploitable), 2 amateurs (loose-pre calling stations), 2 solid regs (typically laggy, best avoided), and 1 complete nit (short stacked and looking to jam pre on 5% of holdings).
Playing ABC against the amateurs (who were mostly loose calling stations) made for very profitable play. I was also able to establish a TAG table image every session and then utilize that to run a high frequency of successful bluffs/semi-bluffs against the passive regs. I avoided the solid regs as much as possible and didn't run into much trouble; 3-bet frequency was really low (probably 5% of pots were 3-bet pre).
I was a bit anxious that my inability to speak Chinese would be a problem, but 60% of players and 100% of dealers spoke at least basic english so it wasn't a problem. I just made special effort to announce my bet sizing clearly to the dealer when necessary and didn't run into any problems (other than one degen angling me out of 600-700 HKD; nbd).
I ended the trip up 110K HKD or 14.5K USD. Can't wait til I have a chance to be back!
